Luis Pato&s 2012 Espumante Quinta do Moinho is a sparkling wine crafted exclusively from the Baga grape, sourced from the Quinta do Moinho vineyard in Portugal&s Bairrada region. This wine is notable for its rosé hue and is produced through an early harvest in late August to ensure optimal acidity. Produced without any pressing of the must of Baga grapes from chalky-clay soils on Quinta do Moinho vineyard.

Tasting Notes:

* Appearance: Rosé coloration.

* Aroma: Delicate notes of white plum, violets, and a subtle smokiness.

* Palate: Vibrant and exuberant fruit flavors, of raspberry, mulberry and cherry.complemented by a fresh and lively character

Technical Details:

* Grape Variety: 100% Baga

* Alcohol Content: 12.5%

* Vinification: Hand-harvested in late August; fermentation in stainless steel tanks over one month; aged in bottle for 41 months.

Food Pairing:

It&s good to pair with shellfish, fish, Chinese and Japanese food.

As the base for a sparkling wine, Baga doesn&t lose its tannic character. But it does offer great fruitiness, an apple crispness and tight acidity. A sparkling wine for food. — Roger Voss

100% Baga fizz. Single vineyard. Some bottles will be late disgorged. Made from free-run juice. Will lose colour because there&s been no skin contact – only the short time between the vineyard and the winery.

Bright salmon pink. Very fresh, tight, lots of fruit – citrus and apple but also a red-fruit flavour. Fine bead. (JH) Jancis Robinson
